- We are looking for a candidate interested in working with new technology in the fast moving field of telematics and infotainment, developing the next generations of telematics systems for the Volvo Group. Telematics and infotainment is of key strategic importance to the Volvo Group as a connected vehicle and associated data is the enabler for an increasing number of services that offer reduced warranty costs and increased uptime and control to our customers. Purpose
On-board Telematics (OBT) develops product lines based on a global telematics platform that will support all our brands and their customers. Our organization is growing and includes colleagues in Gothenburg -Sweden, Ageo-Japan, Bangalore-India, Greensboro-NC/USA, Curitiba-Brazil and Lyon-France. This position will be located in Greensboro to support the American markets and brands, including Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, Volvo bus, Prevost bus, Nova bus, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Penta. The position will report to the Chief Engineer, Americas.
On behalf of our customer we are looking for Telematics Verification Engineer to work in the USA on a contract basis.
We believe this is a position for a person with genuine interest in the telematics and infotainment areas, high ambitions and a strong will to develop personally in a global and expanding environment.
Responsibilities & Deliveries
· Find defects as early as possible and improve the quality on the builds to test
· Ensure that verification activities are carried out to support crossfunctional approval of a release
· Intergration and test including system functionality, end to end protocol/functionality, performance testing and analysis (V3 thru V6), operation and maintenance of test rigs
· Work closely with the SW/HW engineers as well as colleagues from the Back Office team (Volvo Group Telematics at Volvo IT) and Electrical Engineering departments
· Test case development, execution under a diverse collection of operational scenarios, data analysis, results interpretation and reporting, competitive analysis, issue debugging, enhancement and automation of test procedures as well as stability analysis
· Act as interface between development and test
Education
· Minimum BSEE/CS; Masters degree preferred

Experience, Skills & Tools
· 3-5 years of progressive test experience from embedded systems is preferred
· Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
· Good general knowledge of communication protocols
· Strong knowledge in Quality Management and tools (QMS, DFMEA, Project Assurance)
· Tools for automation of tests. Programming & Scripting skills: C/C++, C#, Python, CAPL
· OS, Internals/Kernels: Linux, Windows & Various RTOS
· Wireless standards, network and communications protocols: GSM, GPRS, GPS, SIP, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP
· Testing Tools: CANalyzer, CANOE and J1587 Navigator
