We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to develop clear and comprehensive documentation for our automatic door systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical writing principles and the ability to translate complex technical information into user-friendly manuals, installation guides, and maintenance documents, all written in American English. We are a team of 6 people in 4 countries. We work in an agile development teams, but you also need to be able to work independently. You will be part of a dynamic R&D technical documentation team and work with products related to our Business Segment Pedestrian (BSP). The main products include Sliding Doors, Swing Doors, Revolving Doors, and Security Entrance Control products. Our door automation solutions are machines serving millions of people in public areas; hence, we take pride in complying with several national and international safety standards without compromising on user experience, energy efficiency, sustainability, or security. Kravspecifikation: The skills and experience you need We are looking for someone who has a: • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field. • Proven experience as a Technical Writer (5+ years preferred), preferably in a technical or engineering environment. • Strong writing and editing skills in American English with a focus on clarity and precision. • Knowledge of writing in simplified technical English is an advantage. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Experience working in Agile environments can effectively contribute to documentation in iterative development cycles. • Experience in SolidWorks Composer (or similar) for creating illustrations. • Experience in Adobe Illustrator. • Experience working with Component Content Management System (CCMS) tools. Extra acknowledgment for proficiency in CCMS tools Quanos Schema ST4 and Skribenta. Familiarity with automatic door systems or similar mechanical systems is a plus. Collaboration tools, such as Confluence, Teams, or Slack, facilitates effective teamwork across global teams. Certifications in technical writing, such as the Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC).
